The Hunter Genetics Unit is based in Waratah but also provides specialist services to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital.

Multidisciplinary Genetic Clinics

Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic

In collaboration with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit, John Hunter Hospital. Clinics are held every Thursday afternoon to discuss ultrasound findings, family history and genetic counselling.

Ward Consultations

An on call Geneticist is available 7 days per week for inpatient ward consultations.

A genetic counsellor, in collaboration with the respiratory team, provides genetic information and support to families with a new diagnosis of cystic fibrosis.
