Child Protection

The Child Protection Team provides assessment and care to children presented to John Hunter Children's Hospital where child protection issues are identified. The team includes Paediatricians, Social Workers, Psychologist and Paediatric Nurse.

Is a referral required?

The John Hunter Children's Hospital Child Protection Team accepts referrals from Health Clinicians or from Community Services or Joint Investigation Response Team (JIRT). Referrals are accepted via telephone consultation.
